Welcome to the website of Donald C. Barrett, P.A. My law practice is devoted exclusively to criminal defense and related matters.  I have more than twelve years of experience in criminal law, including nine years of experience as a Florida State Prosecutor.  I have handled thousands of criminal cases, from capital felonies, to virtually every type of misdemeanor.

I am the immediate past Chief Assistant State Attorney of Monroe County and the former Division Chief of the Upper Keys State Attorney's Office. Through my experience, I am aware of the many important rights possessed by the accused in every criminal proceeding.  As your lawyer, I will ensure that your rights are protected, and I will examine and evaluate the evidence in your case to determine whether the government can meet its burden of proof.
